From October 2025 to June 2026, I had the incredible opportunity to take part in a European Solidarity Corps project in Split, Croatia, with Udruga MI Split.
It is hard to believe how quickly these nine months passed. They were filled with challenges, new experiences, and wonderful people who will always have a special place in my heart.
I spent most of my time at the Golden Age Centre, where I organized creative workshops, taught Polish language classes, and led dance lessons for older adults. Every meeting was different, but one thing always remained the same—the smiles of the participants and the warm atmosphere that made me look forward to coming back every day.
I also had the opportunity to visit primary schools, high schools, and universities to present the European Solidarity Corps programme and encourage young people to begin their own volunteering journey.
Beyond volunteering, I had the chance to explore Croatia and its beautiful surroundings. I visited Zadar, Makarska, Dubrovnik, Omiš, the islands of Vis and Hvar, as well as Bosnia and Herzegovina. Every trip was an opportunity to discover new places, learn more about the local culture, and create memories that I will cherish for years to come.
This experience taught me much more than I ever expected. I became more independent, more confident, and more open to meeting new people and embracing new challenges.
Above all, however, I will remember the people—the kindness of my mentors, the support of the entire team, the friendships I built, and the joy that the beneficiaries shared with me every single day.
I came to Croatia looking for a new adventure, and I am leaving with a second home, unforgettable memories, and experiences that will stay with me for the rest of my life.
