Meeting at the Association MOST

On 21 May, I had the opportunity to visit the MOST Association, a non-governmental organisation based in Split, Croatia, which promotes values such as volunteering, solidarity, respect for diversity and human rights. During the visit, I was welcomed by Mr Ivo Puljek, who showed us around the association and explained the projects they are involved in with enthusiasm and clarity. It was a very interesting and enriching experience, and right from the start he made us feel completely at ease.

MOST does fundamental work with people in vulnerable situations, seeking to improve their quality of life and combat poverty and social exclusion. One of the most striking projects is the shelter for homeless people, set up in collaboration with the city of Split. As well as offering accommodation, the shelter provides support in regularising documents, accessing social rights and reintegrating people into society through various activities and workshops. The association also coordinates a national homeless support network and maintains a website with useful information and a space for sharing stories and experiences.

Another inspiring project is the social supermarket that provides free food to citizens in need.

Learning about their work was not only informative, but also inspiring.
